Stephen Price was called to the Ontario Bar in 1976 and has been practicing in the area of criminal law since. Steve specializes in the area of drinking and driving cases and is well known among his peers, crown attorneys and police for his expertise in impaired driving, over 80 and refuse breath test cases.
Stephen had chaired the Continuing Education Impaired Driving Seminar presented by the Law Society of Upper Canada for many years. This is a forum for lawyers, judges and crowns to get up-to-speed on the latest cases and strategies surrounding drinking and driving law. He remains a speaker at this annual conference.
Stephen has had numerous articles published on drinking and driving law and has spoken at many drinking and driving seminars for the profession, including programs presented to Justices of the Ontario Court of Justice; the Law Society of Upper Canada and The Canadian Bar Association. He will again this coming fall, with a senior Crown Attorney, speak upon the current state of drinking and driving law to the Justices of the Ontario Court of Justice, at their Western Region Judges seminar.
While no one can warrant the outcome of a criminal trial, Mr. Price’s successful defence of thousands of impaired, over 80 and refuse breath test charges in his 35 years of practice, can guarantee the best possible chance of an acquittal. His ability to succeed in court for the vast majority of his clients explains why most of his referrals come from previous clients or from within the profession (other lawyers; crown attorneys; police officers and judges). His history of positive results and province wide reputation in this area of law also explains why he is retained to represent persons charged with drinking in driving offences in courts all over the province.
If you are charged with a drinking and driving offence the only way to avoid the dire consequences of a criminal record, fine (or imprisonment in certain cases), skyrocketing insurance and loss of license, is to retain counsel with a great deal of expertise and experience in this very specialized and ever evolving area of the criminal law. Stephen’s experience and expertise in drinking and driving offences is second to none.
